New Tent

Sadly our family has out-grown our tent.  This was the little 2 person tent Doug and I got for our wedding and now with 7 people we it seems a tad tight.  With summer here and family reunions on the way we decided it was time to get a new one.  Of course we had to try it out to make sure it worked.  Here are our testing pictures.

Peter started getting cranky and sucked on daddy's keys.  Sadly he just wouldn't calm down so he and I had to spend the night inside where it was nice and warm and soft.  The sacrifices I make for my kids.

Forever Family

My sister and her husband became a forever family May 20, 2011 when they were sealed in the Spokane Temple.  I'm so happy for them.

They are a great couple and I'm thankful to have them part of my family.

Doug got Lexie dressed and she wanted shorts.  Well unknowingly he grabbed a pair of Peter's and sqeezed her into them. 

Cowboy Peter

I love my little cowboy.  In just the last couple of days he has decided to add spice to my life by starting to walk around.  He could cruise along the furniture or hold your hand and walk, but now he is a big boy and doing it all by himself and you can tell he is sooooo pleased with himself.

Yesterday he was sick and it's no fun having a sick baby, but he was still a cutie when I took this picture.

Yes we go often.  It is my kids favorite place to play.  The food isn't the best but they can play for hours and not cost me much.  Most of these are of Peter because he was stuck with me in the toddler area while the other four ran off to play.

Select Choir Concert

Ben is musically talented.  No this is not a parent's dream either.  He truly is.  This past school year he has played the french horn in band, sang in select choir, taken private piano lessons and taken private voice lessons.  Music is just in his blood.

This year's select choir concert was a presentation of the musical "The Princeless Princess."  The story is of a princess who needs a prince and so she buys a book on how to get one.  Her character traits are: tall, dark and handsome.  The steps take you through the Rapunzel act of letting down your hair, the kissing of the frogs, and the wake up kiss of Sleeping Beauty.  Ben got to be one of the two princes in the play and had the wake up kiss.  I was hoping I would catch his first kiss on film, but alas just as he started to lean in she jumps up and says stop.  She needed to see if he matched her list.  Was he tall?  No.  Was he handsome?  He was cute but not the best.  Was he dark?  No  The kiss was off.  In the end she learns that there are more important characteristics to look at rather than the skin deep ones.

Father Son Campout

Every year our church has a father son campout.  Last year the boys didn't get to go because I had jsut had Peter literally, I think he was 5 days old.  This year there was no holding them back.  Even Peter went on the trip.  Not so sure my husband is sane when he takes all 4 boys, but it is definately the one time of the year that I am thankful to have 4 boys.

We get laughed at because each boy has his own tent but they love it and maybe that is how Doug stays sane.

Not sure about all the activities that went on and maybe I don't want to, but I do know that they played late into the night and had tons of fun doing it.

Peter though got tuckered out.

Kindergarten Spring Concert

I can't believe how the time flies.  Seems just like yesterday that the school year started and now it is a week done and my little kindergartener will be a big first grader.  Glad I have these pictures to look back on.

I think of all the concerts I've seen the kindergarten is my favorite.  Most of the kids are so full of energy and so excited to show off.  The cute music is a plus too.  You have never seen anything so cute as a bunch of 5 year olds dancing the chicken dance.  And then they want the you to participate too.

This year there were 4 relatives all together in kindergarten.  Two in each of the 2 classes.  This pictures captures 3 of them.  First is my nephew Sam in the blue, then Evan, and then my sister Stefany.  The  fourth child is my brother Justin pictured above.

We colored some easter pictures for family night last month and Peter got in on the action.  Maybe a little too much into the action.  Not only did his paper sport color, but so did his chest and...

Mother's Day

I know it happened a month ago.  I wasn't going to post the pictures.  But here I am posting anyway.

I got to sleep in a little and Doug made breakfast.  I came out to eat and on the counter were my gifts.  See the big red box?  Well I opened it

And then I opened the box inside of it and then the one inside of it until I finally got down to my itty bitty gift:  A nano ipod.  I love it.  Wasn't sure I would, but I use it every day when I exercise and I can't wait to use it on a road trip.

Soccer

Spring 2011 Soccer Player:

Evan

Evan decided that he wanted to be a soccer player during the spring season.  Really, I would rather he just stay home.  By the end of the year I'm tired of running around and really just want a break but he asked and since we told the boys they could do one sport per school year he got to do it.  Chris wanted to also, but there weren't enough players for him to be on a team.  Maybe next year.

It was cute watching the boys try to play a sport they had never played before.  They would all group around the ball and try to take it from each other even though they were on the same team.  Or, they would stand off to the side and just watch the world go by. 

By the end though everyone was getting the hang of it. I really think they needed just a couple of more games, but I wasn't in charge.

 

Even though by the end he was complaining of the practice, Evan says he wants to try again next year.  We'll see....
