Frostbite Run

This picture is to serve as physical proof that I voluntarily and willingly a) ran a race and b) in the middle of January.  Yes baby, it was cold outside.

Birthdays part 2

Like I said earlier Chris and Lex had to have a combined birthday this year.  I really just wasn't feeling like doing 2 within a week of each other.  So we went to Chuck E Cheese's on a Monday and then at the end of the week we had family over for cake and such.

They did get their own cake though.  I wasn't that stingy.

Chris thought he had died and gone to heaven when he opened this shirt.  He is a Star Wars nerd, but we love him anyway.

Alexis was thrilled beyond measure to see this monkey that Aunt Kaytie made for her.  She loves the thing to death.  Literally!

And that wraps up another year for them.  Chris is now 10 and going into 5th grade and Lex is now 5 and heading to kindergarten.

Phases of the moon

For one brief second I thought I would be the cool teacher mom.  I bought some Oreo type cookies and the children carved the phases of the moon in the filling.

And then they got to eat them all up!

Chuck E Cheese birthday

It's the first of the year and I should be feeling full of energy.  However, my mid month I was dragging so Chris and Lex got gypped on the birthday scene.  They had to share.  We invited two of their friends who happen to be siblings (sweet, right?) to Chuck E Cheeses for a play date.

Sledding

Our friends the Woods have a sweet little sledding hill that we used this winter.  When I say we I do not necessarily include me although I did make one trip down.

This is a shot from the top of the hill down to the bottom.  See that little speck down by the trees?  Yes, we did make it that far and even in the trees a couple of times.

Sledding in style.  Redneck style.

Going down!

and then she slid down on her bottom.

Peter wasn't that into the whole sledding thing.  However, he was big into spray painting the snow.

Some hot chocolate afterwards and this was a great day.  Thanks Woods.
