Stripper in the family?

Alexis was done with her costume and the whole parade thing early on. She decided to take actions into her own hands and rid herself of the offending costume.

Forgiveness?

Tomorrow I teach at church. Ironically the lesson is on forgiveness. At first I thought it ironic because I have had to do a lot of soul searching and forgiving of myself and others this past year, but no that is not the ironic part. The truly ironic part is that I still have so far to go in the forgiveness category. We've been having problems with our neighbor's dogs coming on our land and leaving messes and destroying things. Last night was a new last straw. A dog pooped on our lawn which Doug stepped in (those shoes are now in the garbage thankfully they were already destined for it) and tore up our swimming pool cover. GRRRRRR! Back to the drawing board as they say. I guess I need this lesson as much as or more than others.

It just so happened that all my family was in the area for the 4th of July so we had a mini-reunion and took family pictures

This is the family still living at home. We have my mom and dad, then my sister's; Larissa, Stefany, Paige, Erin, Brin, and Natalie. My mom is holding my brother Justin. Natalie and Stefany are foster sisters right now but scheduled to be adopted in the future.

Lady in red

Doug dressed Alexis so cute for church yesterday. Then he tried to take some pictures. She seemed to run from the paparazzi (aka Doug). So his camera skills had to be quick and sure. He ended up with some cute shots.

Fourth of July Breakfast

Our ward has an annual Fourth of July breakfast every year and this is how we start the celebration day off.

First there is a flag raising ceremony followed by the pledge of allegiance. Doug and Forrest McKinney are raising the flag here.

Then we eat. Here Chris is contemplating what to eat first. Is it the pancakes or eggs?

Fourth of July Parade

Every year there is a parade for the children to participate in. This year I happened to be in charge of the parade. I decided the theme for this year would be favorite Disney characters and did we ever have some characters show up.
