Around the World

In our church, the young men are asked to serve missions for 2 years preaching the gospel to the world.  Indeed it is to the world for many young men travel around the world to their mission area.  We are lucky in our ward to have many men who have served outside of the United States and who still have items from their mission.  The primary recently had an activity where the children traveled around the world to see the sites and taste new foods.
Chris and his friend Anthony in Argentina

Each child was given a passport that had their picture in it and had to get it stamped at each country they "entered"

We also have a couple of people who are of different nationalities in the ward.  So the children got to also learn about Holland and the Native Americans.

A very good activity.

Middle School Politics

Benjamin decided that he wanted to run for a position on the ASB board.  We supported him and helped him with his posters and speeches.  This was one of his posters that was hung up at school.  He didn't win the position, but it was a good learning experience for him.

Two Binkie Pete

Last night Peter was running around with two, count them two, binkies in his mouth.  He thought he was so cool finding both binkies and getting them both in his mouth.  Daddy wanted a picture, but by the camera was found and ready Two Binkie Pete was done.  Hence the tears in the first picture.  Daddy wanted a pic and Peter was having none of it.

Now he's happy but the picture is blurry.
Someday we'll get a good one, but until then the blurry one is staying.

The little stink just saw me playing with these pictures and went to find both binkies.  He then proceeded to come and show me with both in his mouth and a huge grin, so big I could see it beyond the binkies, on his mouth.

Lex on a Sunday Morn

I try to make Lexie's hair look nice especially for church, however, my efforts seem to be in vain.  Oh, she looks good for the first couple of minutes after I'm done, but then she starts to play and her hair goes wild.  She was one of the "lucky" ones born with very curly hair that just likes to do it's own thing like her mama's does.  Daddy isn't usually home before church because of meetings he attends, but last Sunday he was and he just loves her hair when it's all curly and nice.  He went a little camera happy, but if he didn't we wouldn't have these pics to share.

This shot is truly her sass and all

Just Stuff

I'm behind on getting so many pictures and events on here that I'm thinking of just quitting.  Okay, not really but the task does seem daunting at times.  However, before I do all those past events I just want to take a minute and talk about current events.
Last night my kids thought I was the best mother ever!  I let them stay up waaaayyy past their bedtime,or so they thought.  Little did they know that I had already sprung forward all the clocks that they would see on their way to bed.  Hahahaha
I just have to say that I'm thankful for the rain today (full of sarcasm here).  The Great Lakes (aka potholes) were starting to dry up!  What would the wildlife do without their water source?  A whole eco-system was bound to become extinct.  And then of course the Grand Canyon at the bottom of the hill would be stymied in it's progress.  Without the continued running water it would never become as grand as it could be.
Pretty sure I just used up my google allotted amount of sarcasm in this one post.  The rest of the year looks to be boring, but I'll manage somehow never fear.

Winter Luau

It's February and it's cold.   So, what does my ward decide to do?  Hold a luau of course!   I love a good party but really outside was more conducive to a sledding activity not a luau.  I got all dressed up in my best Hawaiian attire and then promptly covered it up with a long coat and boots (Ben's boots by the way).  I was cold!  For some reason Doug thought it was cute or just funny so he had to take a pic.

This was a dancing activity for adults only and it was nice to get away for a while.  Forget the children.  Forget the cold and just relax.  We danced.  We talked.  We laughed and just had fun.
Here we are pretending we are on the isles of the sea.

Maybe someday.....sigh

Beating the winter blahs

I claim insanity.  Winter was getting to me and made me do things I wouldn't normally do.  It was cold and snowy.  The children and I had been cooped up too long and it was time for a break.  We bundled up and headed downtown.  Crazy, I know!  It sure was a good time though and we all managed to tell the tale.

Peter and Lex went fishing

Ev traveled the river in style

Ben built a hut

Not sure where Chris was but he had fun too.
Mobius was the perfect little escape in an otherwise dreary day.
