Fishing

Doug took the children to a friends house to fish while I enjoyed a night off.  It was a little chilly, but they all had fun and I think our friends may have had more fun spoiling my children with goodies afterwards.

Peter and Lex

Not sure what I made, but Peter sure enjoyed licking off the spatula.

My sister Paige gave us this puzzle that you can make any picture you want out of.  One day Doug and the children made a picture of Lex with it.  Not bad.

Conference

Twice a year our church holds a general conference.  We are lucky enough to be able to stay home and watch it over the Internet.  I try to make this a special time with special foods to eat and activities for the children to do while watching.  I saw online this idea to make campfire cookies to eat while watching this movie called the Croods (about a caveman family and their move out of the caves) and I had an epiphany.  In the Book of Mormon the people would pitch their tents towards the temple to hear the prophets words.  So we figuratively pitched our tents with a fire to hear the prophets.

Valentine's Day

Our church held an adults only activity just after Valentine's Day.  It was a country dance with country music of course but also a demo of line dancing that soon had many people on the dance floor.  It really was a great night and a nice respite from the children.

I loved the effort that went into the detailed decorated even though they were simple it was nice.

Frostbite Run

This picture is to serve as physical proof that I voluntarily and willingly a) ran a race and b) in the middle of January.  Yes baby, it was cold outside.

Birthdays part 2

Like I said earlier Chris and Lex had to have a combined birthday this year.  I really just wasn't feeling like doing 2 within a week of each other.  So we went to Chuck E Cheese's on a Monday and then at the end of the week we had family over for cake and such.

They did get their own cake though.  I wasn't that stingy.

Chris thought he had died and gone to heaven when he opened this shirt.  He is a Star Wars nerd, but we love him anyway.

Alexis was thrilled beyond measure to see this monkey that Aunt Kaytie made for her.  She loves the thing to death.  Literally!

And that wraps up another year for them.  Chris is now 10 and going into 5th grade and Lex is now 5 and heading to kindergarten.
