Our little spot of earth has an annual parade/celebration day. I love going even if it is small town. The parade participants still throw candy and I don't have to worry too much about my kids because there isn't a huge crowd. The kids look forward to the candy of course, but I think they like the tradition of going as a family too.
Waiting for the parade to begin with Wal Mart bags just waiting to be filled with candy
We watch the flag go by, the firetrucks blowing their horns and sirens going off and don't forget all the horses and mules and the dutiful pooper scoopers behind. We like seeing the old hot rod cars mixed with the John Deeres.
A couple of the hot rods. I should have got the tractor too but didn't. Hindsight is always 20/20
Fun time and then I took the day off to just be lazy while Doug watched the kids. Really was a win win in my opinion.
