Huckleberrying

We live in Washington State.  I've (Mommy) has lived her my entire life minus college and 4 years of marriage before we moved back.  It shames me to say that I have never gone huckleberry picking.  I know. It almost seems blasphemous or something.  I live in prime berry territory and have never gone.  Well this year we fixed that thanks to some friends.
Our friends the Woods go quite often and after talking we hitched a ride to see what there was to see about this activity.  It just so happened that our church was having a daddy/daughter camp out in prime berry land so Carol and I brought the boys to meet up with our husbands and daughters.  We drove as far up as my van would allow and then climbed in the back of their pickup to make it the rest of the way up.  The ride was bumpy, full of awe inspiring views and fun.  Did we get a ton of berries?  Not really.  This year was a bad year for them, but I wouldn't mind going again.  Hint, hint, hint.

We made it to the top of the mountain and took a small rest.  Here we walked, climbed and ate some lunch.

And then berry picking was done and we were heading back down the mountain.  Our day was done and some of us were more tuckered out than the others.
