King of the Hill

Adorable Peter climbed on Ben and took a seat

Peter thinks he is soooo smart to get up there and stay.

Daddy Daughter Campout

Every year our ward has a daddy daughter campout.  Lexie really looks forward to going especially since the father son campout is about a month before.  She was pumped and ready for this weekend to come and I was ready for her to have time with daddy.  The boys and I were going to go to town, do some shopping and then come home and watch a movie.
We woke up and Chris threw up.  Not a good start to the day.  However, by noon he was doing much better.  Lexie started to go downhill.  At first she wanted a nap.  Not unheard of but definitely not common.  She slept and slept.  I left with the boys and Doug finished getting ready.  Finally she awoke and they headed out.  On the way to pick up our niece (who Doug was taking because her daddy is in the Air Force and not here) Lexie puked.  Turn around time and home they went.  I received a call that they would be home for the evening and plans changed, but we made it.  Poor little girl was sick until bedtime.  There is always next year, but she was so ready for this year.
Here she is with her camping backpack and all ready to go.  I even did her hair so she would still look decent come morning.

Elk Days

Our little spot of earth has an annual parade/celebration day.  I love going even if it is small town.  The parade participants still throw candy and I don't have to worry too much about my kids because there isn't a huge crowd.  The kids look forward to the candy of course, but I think they like the tradition of going as a family too.
Waiting for the parade to begin with Wal Mart bags just waiting to be filled with candy

We watch the flag go by, the firetrucks blowing their horns and sirens going off and don't forget all the horses and mules and the dutiful pooper scoopers behind.  We like seeing the old hot rod cars mixed with the John Deeres.
A couple of the hot rods.  I should have got the tractor too but didn't.  Hindsight is always 20/20

Fun time and then I took the day off to just be lazy while Doug watched the kids.  Really was a win win in my opinion.

New Tent

Sadly our family has out-grown our tent.  This was the little 2 person tent Doug and I got for our wedding and now with 7 people we it seems a tad tight.  With summer here and family reunions on the way we decided it was time to get a new one.  Of course we had to try it out to make sure it worked.  Here are our testing pictures.
The kids seemed to like it at least for a while

Yes I was there and prepared to spend the night in the tent

Family game time in the tent

Peter started getting cranky and sucked on daddy's keys.  Sadly he just wouldn't calm down so he and I had to spend the night inside where it was nice and warm and soft.  The sacrifices I make for my kids.

Forever Family

My sister and her husband became a forever family May 20, 2011 when they were sealed in the Spokane Temple.  I'm so happy for them.
Marriage Prison shot
Jeff just scares me and Brin doesn't look too happy.  Hahahaha

After the last picture Brin isn't quite sure what to make of her new husband.

They are a great couple and I'm thankful to have them part of my family.

Shorts

Who wears short shorts?
Lexie wears short shorts!

Doug got Lexie dressed and she wanted shorts.  Well unknowingly he grabbed a pair of Peter's and sqeezed her into them.

Cowboy Peter

I love my little cowboy.  In just the last couple of days he has decided to add spice to my life by starting to walk around.  He could cruise along the furniture or hold your hand and walk, but now he is a big boy and doing it all by himself and you can tell he is sooooo pleased with himself.
Yesterday he was sick and it's no fun having a sick baby, but he was still a cutie when I took this picture.
