After beach fun and a good lunch we packed up and head south to Tillamook and the Octopus Tree. Don't mind me as a take a small tangent. It's funny how tech-needy we've become. Fifty years ago families making this trip had only a map and street signs to guide them. Today we have those, but add to the mix google map and G.P.S. systems. So is it only me that finds it funny that while trying to get to our first destination the only people who got lost on our first outing had the G.P.S. system and not those that only had maps and signs? Anyway, I digress.
Shots while waiting for the lost to be found or at least arrive.

Our first stop was at Cape Meres to see the lighthouse and famous Octopus Tree.
Just by looking at it I can assume you guessed how it got it's name.

From the tree there was a small hike down to the lighthouse. Not so bad walking down, but boy did my body rebel at the walk up. Unfortunatly was walk was a semi-waste because vandals decided it would be fun to shoot a rifle at the glass of the lighthouse and thereby making unsafe for visitors to go up in it.
